Delicious Mamma Mia omelette! Revenge sauce was very good! Going at 10 am, you can expect a 15-20 min wait!

This is one of my favorite places to get breakfast in town. From their amazing coffee selection to their food. Great biscuits and gravy and crispy hash browns. They make a great latte and cafe mocha. Also they have the best French toast in town. Either the blueberry or apple you can’t go wrong.

This was our first time visiting Iowa. We Googled places to eat for breakfast and chose this place from several other options. This place was wonderful. It's definitely a hidden jewel.The food was good and the service was flawless. Our waitress was Caressa M. and she was very kind, patient, smiled, and checked in often to see if we needed anything. We highly recommend this place and wish we had a percup cafe in our state. Thanks Caressa for making our day start off great!🙂

Staff: Our waitress was slow getting to us and did not top our drinks or desserts as shown in other pictures, or the menu pictures. Half way through our meal she sat down to roll silverware and ignored us until we hailed the manager for our check.The host was very friendly and did most of the work on our table.Food: Order half syrup on the mocha unless you want the bottom inch of your drink to be unmixed syrup.Omlette ingredients are not cooked into eggs, instead they are scooped into your egg patty (think taco).Vegetables in omlette were very undercooked.Eggs were somewhat dry. I can't verify but it tasted as if the eggs had been precooked. The rest of the food was not at all bad and largely tasted like standard faire.Price: Specialty coffee drinks $3-4 eachBreakfasts $6-12Desserts $3-5Cost for 2 with drinks meals and dessert was $32Conclusion: Decent place to eat, and certainly better than chain breakfasts, but there are better eats to be had around Des Moines.

That coffee! Haven't had a cappuccino that good since I was in Tuscany in 2007. I want another one right now. . .

If you want a DELICIOUS breakfast with a cozy atmosphere, then you will love this Cafe! I really enjoy their hash brown taco dish! 😍 It’s made to order so won’t be coming back out with the drinks, lol but that is OKAY! Totally worth the lil wait! Staff are courteous and the atmosphere is so comfortable - my hubby and I love to dine at PerKup, such great food! Pancakes are also amazing. Prices are decent for the quality of food. Thanks for always making great dishes!

This is seriously one of the best hidden gems in Iowa. The staff are friendly and it's family owned and operated. The food is absolutely amazing and you don't have to deal with that Diner smell or dirty floors. It is by far the cleanest and most eccentric Cafe in all of Iowa.

Yummy food, you get a great amount of food for what you pay for and it's amazing. Also love their hot chai!

Cozy breakfast spot with delicious breakfast and lunch. Sunday mornings are busy, but the wait was not long and the service was prompt. Restaurant accommodates a variety of group sizes, and offers booster seats and high chairs for children.The food was fantastic - especially the french toast. Nothing terribly fancy, just good food and a nice atmosphere. The menu has something for everyone with several ala carte options that are sure to please anyone. Menu is appropriately priced, and the bottomless coffee always hits the spot. Service was prompt and friendly, reflective of the family-run business. Great place to start the day.

The wait was a whopping ten minutes at lunch rush for a seating of 5. Our orders varied greatly. When we got one order slightly over done they immediately fixed it. The food was homemade and fantastic. The biscuits and gravy was phenomenal and the gravy was from scratch. Will be returning

Was just looking for a quick sit down breakfast I'm so glad I found this place it is exactly what you want from a cafe the menu is great all the normal stuff but bigger portions also some twists on favorites like giant breakfast sandwiches for a pretty low price also the staff is super down to earth and friendly the two waitresses we interacted with are sisters and they definitely lighten the atmosphere with humor one is Mary I didn't get the others name but they were great definitely will be back again

Our group of 4 were seated after a short wait. Drinks were ordered and received quickly. Waitress was pleasant but did seem to have issues entering our order into her handheld computer and we received our breakfast appetizer before the meals even though we told her twice we wanted it out at same time as everything else. Food was very good and filling. Very large omelets, hashbrowns crisp like I like them and those who had french toast said it was excellent. Would definitely go back.

The reviews looked good so thought we would check it out. Its a nicely decorated place, we had a good server, food was nothing to brag about. My husband ordered the sausage gravy and biscuit, the gravy tasted like cream of chicken soup out of a can. Chicken salad sandwich was ok.

The Paige breakfast sandwich will change your life. Get it and be changed forever.

Food was great. We got the special stuffed French toast. It was heavenly. The outside was crispy, the inside was fluffy and soft. There's just enough sweetness to it that's not overpowering. The menu is pretty diverse and the prices are decent.

This is one of my favorite places to eat lunch! I just wish they were closer.

Best hash browns and omelette I've had in Des moines! Staff were courteous, waiting time to be seated was low (~10 min on a Sunday noon), food was ready in ~10 min even when restaurant was filled 90% to it's capacity, to top it all, taste was excellent.. highly recommend this place for a weekend brunch! 🍳

This is our favorite breakfast place. A nice cozy atmosphere and the food is absolutely amazing. Fresh scones and homemade jams are some of my favorite things

The service is very good, the restaurant is clean and has a nice atmosphere. I had the loaded omelet, which consists of sausage, mushrooms, onions and peppers. What it lacked in flavor it made up for in volume. I had two seasoned with salt and pepper at the table, which I am not a big fan of. This was just my first time at this Cafe, so I will have to go back and give it a try for lunch.

We visited PerKup Cafe on a Saturday morning around 8:30. It was fairly busy but not out of hand. There was a wait when we left around 9:15. A little girl sat us which was really cool and shows the true meaning of a family owned restaurant. The food was awesome, with highlights being the revenge sauce and apple cinnamon French toast. They had a very intriguing hash brown taco as well. They also have a full coffee bar to serve lattes and specialty drinks which was a great change of pace. We had never been before today, but will definitely be returning!

Put a big table together quickly. Drinks were fast, so we're refills. Food came out quick, hot and most importantly delicious. Toddler and baby friendly. Our server was wonderful, clearly a pro. Very happy with everything.

Its quiet, yet a comfortable atmosphere. Not crowded, yet full. Only open until 2. Great Mocha, nice waitress, great music, thought it was a coffee shop but its a nice sit down and eat for lunch place.

This place never fails to deliver. They have fantastic dishes for affordable rates, there are no long waits even when they are full.

Wife and I came out to try this spot for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It's unsuspecting as it resides in a small plaza. Wife ordered the Mama Mia omelet, had bacon, spinach, mushrooms, Italian cheese blend and their "revenge sauce". The revenge sauce is labeled as spicy but if you're a fan of spicy then this sauce won't be spicy to you. The best thing I can compare the spice to is a chipotle type of sauce, nice flavorful kick but not much in the way of being spicy. I got the half order of biscuits and gravy with eggs and hash with 2 pieces of bacon. All this to say that we'll be coming again. Omelet was tasty and unique, and my B&G were solid. Awesome little find!

Great food and great service. Homemade hot chocolate (nothing from a machine) and delicious French toast, biscuits & gravy and homemade jam! Biscuits are homemade as well. Great for coffee with the guys/gals or friends, breakfast with spouse or the whole family. Have even seen a few small committee/business meetings

PerKup is a great place to meet friends and family for a great meal! Great boutique coffee and breakfast place that serves lunch too. Good food and friendly staff. Sometimes it may take a little bit to get your meal so enjoy the moment and the people you are sharing the experience with. The food is worth the wait.

This was our first trip to perk up cafe. I really wanted to try the coffee. I really liked the triple shot white chocolate mocha. It was the best part of the meal. I decided to try the biscuits and gravy. It came with eggs and hashbrowns. My wife ordered an omelet and added some pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were ok but they were missing the good old fashioned peppered gravy taste I'm use to. The biscuits were kind of hard but had good flavor. The eggs were cooked perfect and the hash browns were good. My wife enjoyed her omelet she said it was a bit under seasoned. It was a nice little place that felt more like a small town dinner then a place you would find in West des moines. I might go back and give it another try. It was all about what I would say was a lack of seasoning might be the only thing holding me back.

I came here looking for a good, filling breakfast, and left with happiness in my belly. I had the Jake plate, which is scrambled eggs with mushrooms, onions, peppers, and a meat (I had bacon) + hash browns and toast. It was a solid breakfast choice, and I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try.
